South Alberta Light Horse Regimental Association

A home for serving members, past serving members, families, and supporters who help preserve the history and community of Alberta’s Regiment.

Alberta’s Regiment

Preserving service, connection, and regimental history.

The SALHRA provides a home for all those who want to support the efforts of the South Alberta Light Horse. This includes serving members of the Regiment, past serving members, their families, and others who want to help perpetuate the history and efforts of this outstanding regiment.

The storied history of the South Alberta Light Horse originates in the Louis Riel conflict in 1885 as the Rocky Mountain Rangers. Since that moment, the Regiment has maintained a proud cavalry lineage through several regiments including the 19th Alberta Dragoons, South Alberta Regiment, 15th Light Horse, and today, the South Alberta Light Horse.
